ENOLOGY
Rubén Calvo is Septima's oenologist. Born in Mendoza (Argentina) on the 17th November 1963, he graduated as an Onologist-Fruit Expert at the Colegio Vitivinícola Don Bosco in Mendoza and later did a course in Skills in the handling and control of wine bottling machinery in Verona (Italy).
His studies were completed with a course in Wine tasting (November 2000) and a Post-graduate degree in Quality planning and management from the vineyard to the wine (August 2001 - April 2002).
Rubén Calvo begins his professional career in 1985 as a wine and distilled wine analyst at Márquez y Cia.
Alcoholes S.A., where in 1987 he is named head of the plant.
In 1990 he joins Bodegas Baudrón as the second oenologist, where he carries out the tasks of pressing, cleaning musts, fermentation, clarification, filtering and stabilising the wines.
Three years later, he is named first oenologist and becomes the highest person responsible for the wines in that cellar.
Finally, in the year 2000 he joins Septima where, since then, he has carried out the tasks of the main oenologist, responsible for the cellars' fine wines.
As of July 2004, Rubén Calvo also carries out the functions of manager of the wine cellar.
